Century 21 tops Savinos 7-1

It was a battle between two lefty starting pitchers. Tyler Lopez for Century 21 and Justin (JT) Tozduman for Savino's.

In the top of the first Tozduman doubled with one out. He was able to steal third and score on the over throw of third. Lopez was able to strikeout the next two batters. In the bottom of the first Ryan Brown singled. He came around to score on Lopez's single to tie up the game.

Neither team scored in the second as both teams went down in order thanks to Anthony Ricigliano throwing out a runner attempting to steal second.

Lopez shut down Savino's in order in top of the third. In the bottom of the third, Derek Chaves walked, advanced to second on a passed ball and stole third base. Brown's single drove in Chaves. Ricigliano came up and got a single to drive in Brown and Lopez having the score after 3 innings Century 4, Savino's 1.

Both teams made pitching changes in the fourth inning. Century brought in Sam Signa. Jack DePalma reached on an error, but was erased on a hard hit liner off of Signa's glove ricocheting right to Brown at shortstop who touched second to get the third out. Anthony Gedrimas came in to pitch for Savino's and struck out the side.

Signa was able to retire the side in the top of the fifth striking out two. In the bottom of the firth, Chaves reached on an error, reached second on a passed ball and stole third. Signa walked, then stole second. Both Signa and Chaves were able to score on passed balls. Lopez singled and came around to score on Ricigliano's RBI single.

In the top of the sixth, Signa struck out the side to end the game.

For Century 21.

Ryan Brown went 2 for 3 with 1 RBI and 2 runs scored. Derek Chaves scored 2 runs. Tyler Lopez went 2 for 3 with 1 RBI and 2 runs scored. Anthony Ricigliano went 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs. Sam Signa scored a run.

Tyler Lopez picked up the victory pitching 3 innings, striking out 7. Sam Signa picked up the save pitching 3 innings, striking out 6.

For Savino's.

Justin Tozduman went 2 for 3, with a double and scoring 1 run.

Tozduman pitched 3 innings striking out 7. Anthony Gedrimas pitched 2 innings and struck out 5.
