Michael's takes on NA Indians on rainy Saturday morning.

Starting for Michael's was Dante Rizzolo, his second start of the year.  Dante had some trouble finding the plate early walking 4 straight to bring the first run of the game in.  However, he was lights out from there striking out 3 in a row to end the inning.

The home half of the first saw some excitement starting with Brandon De Ruvo who earned a walk to lead off.  Brandon and two past ball steals to get to third before Dante Rizzolo earned himself a walk.  Dante swiped his 11th past ball steal as John Gibbons loaded the bases on his walk.  After a strikeout Jack Fantacone earned his team leading 5 RBI on a walk to tie the game.  Anthony Fuller followed Fantacone with an RBI walk of his own to take the lead 2-1 before the side was retired.

Rizzolo made his way out for the second and after a walk and then hitting the next two batters got a quick fielder's choice.  Rizzolo then alternated walks and strike outs before the inning ended with only 2 runs crossing the plate.

Rizzolo finished having pitched 2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 walks, 2 hit batsmen and 5 strike outs.

In the bottom of the second Vinny DiToto got the first hit of his minor league career on an electric single that saw the crowd and bench erupt.   DiToto add the first two past ball steals of his career to get to third.  However, he was stranded there.

NA had four batters come to the plate managing a single and 3 strike outs.

Michaels put pressure on them in the 3rd.  Rizzolo got a single but got caught in the middle of the basepath on a fielder's choice dropped pop fly by Gibbons.  Rocco Gencarelli advanced him on a single and both Gibbons and Gencarelli advance a station on Jack Fantacones single to load the bases before the rally ended on when the 3rd baseman got the force at home.

From there, the 9 year olds from North Arlington took advantage of a young Michael's team who showed their inexperience as the Indians took multiple bases as Michael's threw the ball around the diamond to allow 3 runs to cross the plate.

Other than a single from Jordan Leon and a past ball steal, Michael's went quietly before swimming home in a wet and cold losing effort.  Vinny DiToto earned the game ball for his single and two steals and showing what makes Little League so great...showing growth and progress every time you step on the diamond.
