Reed pitches a 5 inning complete game shutout for Century 21.
Century 21 scored 2 runs in the top of the first. After the first two batters struck out, Tyler Lopez got things started with a triple. He came home to score on Mason Young's single. Young scored on a double by Damian Hernandez. Sean Reed threw a 1, 2, 3 inning in the bottom of the 1st.
Jack De Palma held Century to 0 runs in his second and final inning of the game, but Derek Chaves was able to get his first career triple. In the bottom of the 2nd, De Palma led off with a single and eventually got thrown out trying to steal home on a bad throw back to the pitcher. Reed was able to get out of the inning without giving up a run.
Century batted around in the top of the 3rd putting up 6 runs highlighted by Sam Signa's double and Lopez's single. In the bottom of the 3rd, Reed was helped out by Lopez's unassisted double play.
In the top of the 4th Century loaded the bases by Lopez hitting a double and 2 walks, but they could not push the run across the plate as Lenny Checo was able to get out of the inning. In the bottom of the 4th, Signa made a diving catch to steal a hit. De Palma got a single. Reed was able to get out of the inning without giving up a run.
Century scored 3 more runs in the top of the 5th highlighted by a triple by Young and a single by Lopez. Danny Canaris made a great catch in center field for Savinos. In the bottom of the 5th, Reed was able to strike out 3 of the 4 batters that came to the plate to end the game.
Derek Chaves went 1-2 with a triple and 2 runs scored. Sam Signa went 1-3 with a double and 1 run scored. Tyler Lopez went 4-4 with a double and triple and 3 runs scored. Mason Young went 2-2 with a triple and 1 run scored. Damian Hernandez went 1-2 with a double. Date Rizzolo scored a run. Dylan Zwier scored a run. Sean Reed scored a run. Dominick Van Orden scored a run.
