Mark Eckert delivers three RBI's to help Cricket beat Legion 6-5

After back to back singles by Jake Dolaghan and Jack Eckert in the first inning Mark Eckert came up with two outs and came through big time with a base hit to center field scoring two runs to give Cricket the early 2-0 lead. Mark would come up huge again in the bottom of the sixth with bases loaded and two outs his great at bat drawing a walk scored the game winning run!

In the third inning with Cricket up 2-0 Thomas Cafaro would come through with a big hit of his own, after a hard hit to center field by Dolaghan, Cafaro would single him home with two outs giving Cricket a little breathing room making the score 3-0.

Three runs would seem to be enough with Jake Dolaghan pitching 5 strong innings allowing only one hit and only one walk while striking out 14 with no runs scored but Legion came alive in the top of the sixth. With Thomas Cafaro in to close the game out Luca Iannitelli started the inning off with a walk, a few errors and a couple more walks later Legion had the bases loaded down 3-2. On an 0-2 count Jake Blanchfield came through with a huge hit clearing the bases giving Legion the 5-3 lead. Cafaro would settle down and strike out the next batter keeping Cricket within two.

Cricket would come up in the bottom of the sixth with some great at bats and drew many walks to score three runs for the win highlighted by the lead off walk by Jack Cardino who continues to find himself on base and make things happen.

Justin Belloti had another great day at the plate going 2-3 and did an outstanding job behind the plate and Gabriel Altreche pitched a great 5 innings for Legion.
