Cafaro pitches a gem to force a game 3 to see who will play Century 21 in the championship.

Thomas Cafaro pitched four innings Friday night striking out five and only allowing two walks to help Cricket get the 5-3 victory. Thomas allowed seven hits but the defense made some great plays to get Thomas out of some jams. Mark Eckert would make a nice play fielding a ball at third and throwing it across the diamond to end the second inning with runners on base. In the third inning with runners on second and third with no outs Jude Infante would smoke a line drive but a leaping play by Jake Dolaghan would keep the runners there, next was a ground ball to Leo Scaglione who made a nice play getting the runner at first, followed by a pop up caught in foul territory by Jack Eckert. After that inning the score was tied 3-3.

Although Cricket would only manage to get three hits off of Alex Turelli who pitched a great game himself the hits came in big moments. In the bottom of the second after four straight walks Eli Cardona smoked a double to left field scoring two runs to give Cricket the 3-2 lead. Then in the bottom of the fifth with Dolaghan on third base Thomas Cafaro came up huge again with a hit to give Cricket the 4-3 lead. The next pitch with Jack Eckert on third Cafaro was caught stealing second but not before Eckert would cross home giving cricket the 5-3 lead going into the sixth.

Eli Cardona would come in to close the game for Cricket and pitched excellently! In the sixth inning Eli struck out the first batter, got the next one to ground out to Cafaro and then with a runner on third got the last batter to pop out to Dolaghan.

It was a great team win for Cricket!

For Stellatos the bats continued to stay hot with Turelli and Anthony Smith each having two hits and an RBI and John Gibbons continuing to hit the ball well with another base hit of his own.
