Century 21 takes game 1 of the Majors Championship Series
In a matchup of the two top seeds from this year's regular season, it was the Stellato's Funeral Home @ Century 21.
Nico Baca led off the game with a walk. Alex Turelli sacrifice bunted Baca to 2nd base. Baca advanced to 3rd on a ground out and came around to score on a passed ball. Tyler Lopez was able to get out of the inning without giving up another run. In the bottom of the 1st, Sam Signa singled and went to 3rd on Lopez's double. Signa scored on a wild pitch and Lopez was able to steal home on a dropped ball by the catcher. After 1 inning the score was Century 2 and Stellatos 1.
John Gibbons walked to lead off the inning. Gibbons advanced to 2nd on a passed ball and advanced to 3rd on a ground out. With 1st and 3rd, Gibbons scored when Century threw down to get the runner attempting to steal 2nd. Century was able to put 5 runs up in the bottom of the 2nd. Dante Rizzolo scored on a single by Nicholas "Hollywood" Brennen and Zwier scored on a bases loaded walk by Sam Signa. Hollywood scored on a bases loaded walk to Lopez. Mason Young came up and singled home Signa and Lopez. After 2 innings the score was Century 7, Stellatos 2.
Stellatos scored 2 more runs in the top of the 3rd. Noah Gonzalez and Dom Infantes had back to back singles. Gonzalez scored on Infantes's single when Century threw the ball around the infield resulting in Infantes ending up on 3rd. Jude Infantes was able to drive in his brother by grounding out. Century was kept off of the board in the bottom of the 3rd. After 3 innings the score was Century 7, Stellatos 4.
Lopez struck out the side in the top of the 4th. Century put up 7 runs in the bottom of the 4th. Signa scored on an RBI double by Lopez. Young and Dom Van Orden singled to drive in Lopez. Young, Van Orden and Zwier scored on a wild pitches. Hollywood singled. Sean Reed scored on an error. Hollywood scored on Lopez's single to end the game.
Century took game 1 of the Majors Division Championship Series 14-4. Game 2 will be Monday, June 13, 2022 starting at 6:30 at the Lyndhurst Little League Fields.

Tyler Lopez went 3-3 with 2 doubles, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
