Reed pitches a no hitter for Century!
Sean Reed pitched a no hitter as Century 21 defeated Bergen County Glass 10-0 in a 4 inning game.
BCG went down 1, 2, 3 in the top of the first. In the bottom of the first, Dylan Chaves walked, before Gio Turano was able to get 3 ground ball outs to get out of the inning.
In the top of the 2nd, Jake Mercado was able to get on base on an error. He stole 2nd and 3rd base. But Reed was able to strike out the next 3 batters to strand Mercado at 3rd base. In the bottom of the 2nd, Century scored 1 (by Dylan Zwier) without getting a hit. It could have been worse, but Olivia Glasser was able to beat the runner back to home plate to catch a runner attempting to steal home.
Reed was able to strike out the first 2 batters in the 3rd inning and got the 3rd hitter to fly out to left fielder Jordan Leon. Century batted around in the bottom of the 3rd while scoring 5 runs. Dante Rizzolo, Miguel Cedeno and Dominic Studzinski all singled, while Sam Signa, Rizzolo, Cedeno, Dominic Van Orden and Studzinski all scored.
In the top of the 4th, Reed was able to overcome an error when Cedeno was able to throw out the runner trying to steal 2nd. In the bottom of the 4th, Sam Signa led off with an inside the park homerun (without any errors). Rizzolo then walked, Cedeno followed with a single, scoring Rizzolo. Van Orden and Zwier walked to load the bases. Dom Studzinski then doubled to drive in Cedeno and Van Orden to end the game (Century going up 10 runs ini 4 innings).
For BCG.
Gio Turano struck out 1. Jayden Mercado struck out 2.
For Century 21.
Sam Signa went 1-2 with 1 HR, 1 RBI and 2 runs scored. Dante Rizzolo went 1-2 with 2 runs scored. Miguel Cedeno went 2-3 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Dominic Van Orden scored 2 runs. Dylan Zwier scored 1 run. Dominic Studzinski went 2-3 with a double, 3 RBIs and 1 run scored. Sean Reed had 2 RBIs.
Sean Reed pitched 4 innings, striking out 6 to pick up the win.
