Century defeats American Legion 10-2 in a rare Friday afternoon game.

In the top of the first Legion got a double by Noah Zavala, but he was stranded there as Century pitcher was able to strike out 1 and the defense made 2 plays. Century was able to put up 4 runs in the bottom of the first, highlighted by a 2 RBI single by Miguel Cedeno.

Signa struck out the side in the top of the second. Century added 2 more to their lead after Zavala struck out one and got a ground out. Then with 2 outs Derek Chaves singled, scoring on Signa's triple. Signa scored on a bad throw.

The thrid inning was scoreless for both teams.

Legion scored 2 in the top of the fourth when Century threw the ball around on a swinging bunt. Century scored 3 runs without a hit in the bottom of the 4th.

Signa was retired the side in order in the fifth inning. Century scored 1 more in the bottom of the fifth on a walk to Dominic Van Orden and singles by Sean Reed and Derek Chaves.

Van Orden came on to pitch the top of the 6th, retiring Legion 1, 2, 3.

For American Legion:
Gabe Altreche scored a run. Noah Zavala went 1-2 with a double and run scored.

Noah Zavala struck out 2. Luca Iannitelli struck out 1.

For Century 21:
Dylan Zwier went 1-2 with a double. Dominic Van Orden scored a run. Miguel Cedeno went 1-3 with 2 RBIs and 1 run scored. Dante Rizzolo scored a run. Sam Signa went 1-3 with a triple, 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Sean Reed went 1-3 with 1 run scored. Derek Chaves went 2-3 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored. Damian Hernandez went 1-3 with 2 runs scored.

Sam Signa struck out 9 in his 5 innings pitched, only allowing 1 hit while picking up his 2nd win of the season. Dominic Van Orden had 1 strikeout while picking up his second save of the season.
